Easter Egger Hatching Eggs
Our Easter Egger Hatching Eggs come from a variety of brown-egg laying hens - yes, these eggs are brown, but the babies inside will lay blue or green eggs, depending on the how dark brown their egg is! Because all of our hens are with purebred Cream Legbar roosters, our hatching eggs all have color egg laying genetics. This means that the white and lighter brown eggs will hatch into babies that will lay blue eggs, and the darker brown eggs will hatch into babies that will have the genetics to lay medium to dark green eggs!
We often use brown egg layer hens to produce our Easter Eggers, because that helps give the Easter Egger babies a better laying rate once they mature, compared to the Cream Legbars that don’t lay quite as heavily as some of the heritage or commercial breeds. While our flock varies year to year, our brown egg layers normally include the following
-Barred Rocks
-California Greys and White
-Golden Comets
-Buff Orpingtons
-Bielefelders
-Black and Red Sex Links
-Easter Eggers (green egg layers bred and born on the farm)
Price and Quantity are per dozen (Qty 1 will be one dozen eggs and show as $20)
